CROSSING THE LINE

Seriously, some people just don’t know when to stop.

Calling us multiple times a day to ask simple stuff like “what does it mean by 1+1” or “why is “1+1=2” just doesn’t work. It is annoying especially when we are sleeping and you called to ask another Q that is easily answered if you would just refer to a book. At the age of approaching 20, could you just stop acting like a primary school student?

When you asked us about that, it is either you don’t understand the concept of “numbers” or the operation of “addition”. So, don’t expect us to teach you about multiply if you didn’t know the basic.

Could you just show me that you have done some effort or at least read up on the topic before you called and not just because you know we have the answer ready for you? I don’t mind providing you with the answer 1 hour before the exam or the night before the exam because you are running out of time and understanding the material is no longer an option for you.

We don’t mind giving you the edge over us by revealing what is tested in the quiz but you never fail to provoke us. The first time you called, we “reminded” you to read up on muscular system. You crossed the line when you asked us “do I have to know about the sliding filament theory?” the second time you called; “do I have to know about action potential or resting potential?” the third time you called; “do you think I should read those in marieb or just relying on lectures notes?” the fourth time you called. It is plain annoying.

You do know everyone do get different Q for the quiz and even if they didn’t test me on sliding filament theory, you might get that Q. If it is in the lecture notes, it could be tested in the quiz. If you have the extra time, you could always read those in marieb.

How we wish we could just tell you straight in your face; “you are on your own this time”. We are glad we are able to help you in studies but hey we still have our own life just in case you forgot.

Tertiary education and still expecting spoon-fed style and what’s with your “kiasu” spirit?

To end with something good,
As a scholarship holder, I believe you have something inside you that others don’t but I hope it is not just because you are lucky.

It is just first semester and I couldn’t imagine you are going to do this for another 3 and half years.
