The other day I read something about the rainbow and luck and it so happen that yesterday I saw a rainbow. Some say seeing the actual rainbow is a very lucky thing itself.
So, some interesting facts about rainbows:
1. Rainbows have no end, so the fable that there is a pot of gold at the end of rainbow is impossible. Well, at least i dreamt of getting it when I was small.
2. Every time you see a rainbow, light is actually bended although bending light sound like an impossible task.
3. We don’t get to see the full circle of a rainbow.
I am not going to write about all the sciences when a rainbow appears.
So, do you believe that seeing a rainbow will bring you good luck or did you ever wonder why people tend to wish you good luck sometimes? Perhaps if they don’t, you might fail your test, lost some money or even maybe involved in a fight. Ha-ha.
The article I read actually tries to explore the perspective of lucky and unlucky.
Some of us might feel that we are indeed lucky most of the time or vice versa. To me, it depends on how you look at those incidents that happen in your life and maybe the power of your subconscious mind.
Case 1:
Imagine one day you lose your wallet because you left it in the bus. The next day, someone called and handed you your wallet. Everything is still there, your identification card, driving license and some personal stuff. All but your cash is missing. Would you consider yourself lucky?
Case 2:
Imagine one day you were on your bike and you slow down because you are going to turn into the junction. One car just comes and knocks you down from behind but you just suffer some minor bruises and have to fork out money to repair your bike. Would you consider yourself lucky? (This actually happened to me)
I would consider myself to be lucky in both events. Imagine have to go through all the process of reporting any lost to the police, long queue to get a new identification card or broken arms and legs in case 2. That would be worse.
Lucky people or people who perceived they themselves to be lucky tend to look at the bright side thinking how that event could be worse and unlucky people just focus too much on their loses and hope that that event shouldn’t happen to them or why god picked them and not someone else.
Luck sometimes is just like love. The harder you looked for it, the lesser chance you going to get it. It tends to hits you when you least expected it.
