IT IS YOUR SPECIAL DAY

*they would not let me attached pics here*

It is my beloved baobei's birthday and I miss you. It is time to repay your kindness.

I have no idea what to write and I certainly do not want to miss you more.

I realized I had such a superb time back in UCSI and I miss so many people and the pasar malam and YOU.

Hope you're are doing fine with your FAs and

hope you're still scandalous with all your course-mates. Yes, i know they are just normal friends.
I have whole list of names in my mind just as I type this.

Hope that you still think of me once a while with a smile.

One image I never succeed to get out of my mind about you is your half naked body walking around the apartment, seriously. Don't do that again k.

And, I know I should have sms-ed you but considering you never bothered to reply me, so what-ever.

You are still charming to me and I have no idea why.

I miss those days seeing you watching grey's anatomy over and over again.
I miss those days where you brought girls back to our unit.
I miss those days where both of us study together at the dining table.
I miss those days where you tried to scare me with cockroaches and moths.
I miss seeing you in your clothes on rushing for lectures which you are already late for.
I miss those jokes we cracked and those dirty little secrets.
I miss you addressing me baobei.
and the little note you paste on my laptop at the end of the semester.

K asked me last week about your present and I suggested G2000 or SUB but I forget about PADINI but my point is any branded stuff will do. K agreed as well.

So, before you get angry, I would get you an iphone k
if and after I get one for myself of course, which is kind of "impossible". And I don't think I would be able to bring back kangaroos or koalas as well just in case you wanted one.

I have been dreaming about Malaysia a lot lately but you weren't not in it. I know, kind of su*.

Thank you for being such a charming guy in our relationship. Ha-ha.

Take good care of your mum and I am sure you would have a great celebration
without me.

I think it is time for both of us to move on or maybe you have already did it without me.... Happy Birthday k.

IN LOVE AGAIN

Has been extremely quiet around here. I am in love already or should I use the word again. I found 陈鲁豫's blog few days ago and I am in love with her writing, nothing more. Was reading online about her and found out that she is married to her first love, just like a fairy tale. *Heart melted
part happens here*

How do I get to know her? Thanks to Astro back in Malaysia through 鲁豫有约. Not to say I am a super fan of that program but I will watch it if there is nothing more interesting in other channels. She is a little too skinny though.

p/s: Song, you're so kayu! gosh, you should have secured that job at that moment.

p/s: has not been touching books for three days. So much of being hardworking during holidays ya.

p/s: I don't really know how to hide part of my full post correctly yet.

p/s: I watched super lot of movies this few days. District 9, X - men, My Sassy Girl, Transformer 2.

p/s: Alright, genetics you're next. Hope you're excited as I am right now.

p/s: I didnt realized that Sepet, Gubra and Mukhsin are suppose to be part of "Orked" trilogy. Tagline of Mukhsin: Everyone has a first love story to tell. That is true if only you have been in love before.

p/s: Salute forumer ridd for his patriotism. Almost completed his mpharm at London Sch. of Pharmacy and wants to be back in Malaysia to help [quoted exactly word by word] "develop our pharmacists here one way or another. "

It is one of the most expensive mpharm degree available. Some people are so patriotic. How come?

SEM 2 | A GIRL | READINGS

Sneak peep at my semester two units with a maximum of 27 hours per week on campus.

Genetics in Pharmacy 121 – lots of STPM genetics chapter revisited with extras.
Punnett square, Mendel, phenotype, genotype, dominant/recessive genes, DNA replication, Hardy-Weinberg principles, mutation, virus, mitosis/meiosis. All those familiar terms are coming back. I have been warned that this is a killer subject by seniors though.

Epidemiology and Biostatistics 180 – Use of M.excel, looking at numbers and telling stories. The most interesting about this unit is students may take one A4 sheet of notes (either typed or hand written and double sided) and a calculator into the final exam. The word “may” is kind of underrated here.

Pharmaceutics 122 – More laws and regulations requirements relating to labelling and containers for pharmaceuticals and definitely more compounding. Compounding is a weird thing now considering neither the pharmacist here or in uk compound a lot these day. I asked them.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry 122 – Chemistry at last is getting related to drugs a lot, drug ionisation & pKa, drug stereochemistry, drug solubility, drug stability and all the pharmaceutical analysis of drugs.

Pharmaceutical Biology 123 – Introducing killer subject number two with micro-organisms; biological chemistry; muscles, nerves, action potential, Autonomic nervous system, stuff about bloods, cardiovascular system and kidneys.

At last microbiology is coming in and I welcome all three open book tests throughout the semester.

I think I never posted about her. I am looking forward to meet this girl again. Met her twice in a row end of last semester in the bus and she started to talk to me like I was suppose to know her (as in she and I have met each other before).

I was busy scanning my brain for images of her because I hate it when people look at me and ask “You don’t remember me, do you?”

After second encounter and she never mentioned my name at all, it is safe to assume that she doesn’t know me. It is weird when people don’t introduce themselves even after they started talking for a while.

What happen to “By the way, I am X X X and you are...”?

This time I will make sure I ask for her name.

Was reading about gender occupational segregation after all those gender inequality thing - Man, it’s tough going for women – here.

We’re not nice people – here – the article touches on Taman Sinar Harapan Government-run shelter for the mentally disabled in Kuala Kubu Baru, where some residents were naked and chained to their beds. Yes, it was reported earlier on by thestar.

The author noted our concern for these people didn’t even last a month probably we are more interested with politics now. Add ACCA to the list.

After reading Abandoned by their kids –here, Concern over rise in cases of forsaken seniors - here, and Strong family bond important, say experts – here , I have to agree with Asohan that we are indeed not nice people/children after all.

CHILDHOOD AND TEEN YEARS

The other day I was at the city watching a circus. Yes, a circus for a big kid like me is kind of cool. It is random and it is free.

There are bunch of small kids there and they surely do enjoy the whole performance and thoughts suddenly just come one by one.

When we are small, we are easily satisfied with small stuff or little thing. It took one circus or one small lollipop and you are happy with life. As we progress further in life, it takes much more than that to make us happy and satisfied.

Meridith: There comes a point in your life when you're officially an adult. Suddenly, you're old enough to vote, drink, and engage in other adult activities. Suddenly, people expect you to be responsible, serious... a grown up. We get taller, we get older. But do we ever really grow up?

My mother hates circus for sure. Those playground stuff and fun-fair is a big no no for her as well. They are dirty and messy to her with all those mud in the parking area and basically the whole environment.

So, I don't get to go to circus a lot even when I was small. I remembered one of the very few and could be my first circus (unless my mind is playing trick with me), my father was carrying me on his hands, prove that I was very small that time and its rains that day after the show. The other time, it was in Penang with my auntie's and her kids. I swear my mum complaining about the mud after one of the show and the one in Penang was probably my last circus until that day in the city.

But, as I grew older, I went to lots and lots of fun-fairs with friends.

Looking back my life as a small kid, I think I have little to no childhood. I only attended my first classmate's birthday party when I was 10 and I didn't expect my mum to actually agree to my request. I don't think I ever had a birthday party when I was small where I could invite my friends; decorate the hall with small balloons and receiving countless gifts from friends.

Today, my friend picked me up for steamboat and one of them was talking about freedom and getting home late and stuff like that. As they started the conversation before I got in the car, I wasn't really sure what it is about.

I did add the following to their conversation.

" Eighteen and a half and you are rebellious already." <-- jokingly of course.

Indeed I enjoyed much freedom when I was 17. No doubt about that. I was rebellious when I turned into 16. Looking back my life as a teenager, freedom is no stranger to me and I still wonder how my STRICT mother actually did let me hang out in cyber cafes for 4-5 days every week that time. Either I was too rebellious and my mother could control me no more or she is making it up to me after being strict with me when I was small or both.

A SMALL UPDATE

From time to time I would need to do some reading or else I would fall into deep depression.

I have been kind of helping around with the Uni orientation. People were kind to me last semester and so, I decided to repay the kindness in helping others.

My target - 1. folks who look lost, turning the Uni map around and around.
2. folks who walk alone and look lost.
3. folks who look friendly.
4. folks who just approached me for any help.
5. folks who look uncommon (they are not from Malaysia or Singapore).

It is fun approaching people and re-evaluating your success and failure from time to time. It is also fun as well talking to random people. The other day I was talking to a malay couple accompanying their daughter here. You can see that they are those modern malay. It is hard to find any malay not liking Malaysia but I think they are kind of neutral towards Malaysia.

Few days ago I was kind of frustrated, angry, furious *feel free to add in any words here* after receiving the news of my friend leaving UCSI's pharmacy course. Second person after me and second person to do that after semester 2. Seriously, if I were still in Malaysia, I would knock some sense in them.

I do find myself a little impatient to start the new semester speaking of which I have 27 hours per week. That is a seriously-a-lot of workloads. Looking from another perspective, I am glad that more workloads equal better value of my father's money.

The other day I saw quite a number of people (business students to be exact)are taking supplementary exam and you can really feel the "tenseness" in the air. I am so glad that I passed all my subjects.

I heard that the supplementary papers are not easy and at least two of my coursemates didn't manage to pass their biology supplementary paper.

It is about time that the Pakatan politicians stop gloating on their ‘unexpected’ success in the 2008 general elections.

Decided to add a few more things here.

Was reading and came across this method of taking down forest burning (the one where people did to make the land more fertile) is to burn part of the forest yourself so that when the fire reaches that intended spot, there will be no material for it to "propagate" the fire along. What a way to eliminate fuel element in the
Fire Tetrahedron Model which consist of fuel, oxygen, heat and chemical reaction. I have always under the impression that they would chop down all the trees to control the spread of fire but have never thought of fighting "fire" with "fire".

It is amazing how some people
have the ability to cast a glow that makes everything more beautiful, isn't it. When is the last time you saw such a person?

DOCTOR GRUMPY

Tips for Patients

When asked "What brings you to see me?" the following answers are NOT acceptable, helpful, or desired:

1: "A car" (or bike, bus, or other method of transportation).

2: "My PCP said I should see you."

3: "My daughter drove me."

4. "The hospital sent me."

5. "My medical problems"

6. "The guy at the grocery store told me I should see a neurologist"

7. "Your name is on the referral".

8. "What kind of doctor are you?"

9: "I need a refill on the white pills with numbers on them"

10. "You were on my insurance plan."

RANDOM

Three things caught my eyes today.

1. First and foremost, I passed all my units. Biology was quite borderline thing but hey, that is the reason I am worried half of my semester break. When I lament about not passing a unit, I might because I am not someone who tell the whole world I might fail or how bad I did in that paper just because I didn't get an A for it.
I have seen too many cases of that and yet I still took the bait this time. Yes, song, your poisonous bait I am talking about.

2. Chua Soi Lek talking about saving the environment, seriously. See for yourself - Is it Difficult to Say “NO” to Plastic Bags?
Since when Malaysian politician doesn't talk all about and only politics?

3. I found out that most people possess powerful English vocabulary because they read novels. My very first attempt of novel kind of traumatize myself because the storyline was good with occasionally the "ahem" part (I think) but the ending was so terrible that I would like to argue with the author over it. I was curious - girls would read novels one after another and 影子山庄 was my first and my last, and I still don't get girls in this matter.

The other day, we are suppose to say one thing we enjoy doing and I go for reading. Yes, I like reading but not buying books. My friend said moments later " Yes, Face the Book (facebook)".

Decided to add two more things in this post.

I think I like the name James because I have this urge in my head that one day I could introduce to people with this lines.

"I am Bond, James Bond."

I know, I know what all of you are thinking but that is such a cool name to me. Okay, it all started with my pharmaceutics lab supervisor. He is kind, handsome, most important he has deep blue eyes. That is one thing I am so jealous about, more charming than pup.

I cant remember his name until I tried repeating "I am Bond, James Bond." and laugh to myself one week.

There was this night during exam week, I dream of myself sitting for an exam. Is it only me or others as well where you seem to run out of time to finish everything each time you have such dream. So, I do remember few questions in the multiple choice section.

One Q test me on how many colors rainbow had (I blog about rainbow few days before that dream), one ask me about how many goals was score in some match (I selected two since I don't watch football), one particular Q test me on second order reaction. The last one was the one to make me impress of myself after I woke up.

My brain can come out with different concentration of [A], [B] and reaction rate for it. The Q was easy but I am impress with my brain.

KILLING ME

This is killing me. How I wish Wednesday is here.
I need my results before I fall into the darkness of depression.
I am not even this worried during STPM.

MY CUP OF WRITERS

The two particular thestar columnist I happen to like - MARY SCHNEIDER and HOO BAN KHEE.

Mary is from Scotland, mother of 2 kids (I think), settled down it penang for 30 years (I think). Ban Khee on the other hand has stop writing last year or early this year.

Their articles are always heart warming, something close to your heart. Occasionally I do read those written by others and they range from raising a child and parenting advice, handicapped people and their issues, law pursuits, politics and other random stuffs but they are not quite my cup of tea.

Ever wondered how your parents couldn't even played the DVDs the way they wanted it and they have to ask for your help and you showed them that you are "glad" to help them in return? The way they always stick to Nokia 3310 because that is the only phone they are able to operate with ease?

Head no other place than here - Gadget-impaired by HOO BAN KEE.

Even I myself sometimes find it difficult to operate a high-tech mobile phone with all the touch screen features and would take me ages to type and send a sms.

Ever wondered how to drive on a modern-day road and kl the proper way?

Ever wondered who should pay the bill on the first date? How a woman justify herself for never paying for dinner each time she is with you? Entertaining article endorsed with her own experiences.

It’s tough being a mother, but it’s often tougher trying not to be a mother. Where exactly mothers should draw their line?

Just some articles I enjoyed.

$4.50 AND ME

I woke up, bathe and went down to buy something. Was lining up and soon it was my turn.

"$ 4.50. Thank you. " said the cashier. Here comes the interesting part.

I took out 50 cents from my pocket and I opened my wallet, still need another $ 4.00.

I realized that my wallet is empty, not even a single piece of note in it. My reflex was "OH MY GOD~~~!"

And I have to tell the cashier I will be back later to pay for it. It was kind of embarrassing, seriously, for an item less than $5.

I was holding my wallet the whole time but I didn't even bother to have a look in it because there are always at least more than $5 in it. Normally i would have lots of coins in my pocket as well but I took all the $1 and $2 out two days ago and I am left with around $3 in my pocket.

So, having a deep thought, I realized I spent my last note eating Hungry Jack the other day.

It is good to have some money with you always especially in Malaysia and when you are driving. You never know when the police would be "attracted" to you and so you can do yourself and the police a favor by sacrificing your cup of "kopi".
:D

GOD & CAR

Was going to blog about this some time ago and laziness triumph over my ***.

Was in yvonny’s blog. Copy and paste.

A story about a dream car.

Ever since Greg watched a commercial on this new design brand of car.
he immediately aim it as his dream car, however, he prayed for this car to be his someday.
and so, one day while he was looking around, he decided to have a look on that car.
it was tempting for him to buy it, but somehow a voice tells him "No, not now."
so he didn't, a few days later, he wants to buy the car, the voice tells him "not now Greg."
and he didn't do it again. a few months later, he decided to buy the car,
the voice tells him the same thing. "Not Now Greg." but he ignored and finally sign the paper.
and so proudly he showed off to his neighbors and friends.

then one of his neighbor said to him : wow, nice new car Greg! nice!
and then...
"i just bought this car as well, and somehow a voice told me to give it to you for free.
since you have it already, and i was suppose to give it to you. i think now i'll give it to someone else."

moral of the story; Greg was suppose to get his dream car for free
on the day he spend his own money for the car because he was impatient.

God is Strategic.
Jer 29:11; For i know the thoughts that i think towards you, says the LORD,
thoughts of peace & not evil, to give you a future & a hope.

The whole story is actually about faith and God being strategic in his timing because his time and actions cater for lots and lots of people but our actions only cater most of the time for ourselves. So, God follows his time instead of ours.

Another story told that evening was Noah must be very glad that they didn't jump off the ship before the rain pours down. They must be looking at the rain on the seven days and say to themselves "I was about to jump off the ship on the fifth or sixth day but luckily I didn't."

Sometimes, we are just that close to getting it. Again going back to patience, faith and timing as well.

Another part I love is these phases,
God actually has a big problem. The problem is he thinks that he is God and he likes to show off. But the thing is, he is really God, so you shouldn’t have any problem with that.

Too bad I missed God is Strategic part 2. Totally forget that it is Sunday morning.

FACEBOOK

All about facebook. I have to admit I am quite into facebook and it is actually quite fun especially typing maniac. That is why I am slow at updating my blog this 2 days.

I have a good reason to stay away from it. I guess I have to put that in past tense now.

So, the point is, you really get connected with your friends. I am trying not to add any stranger but I couldn’t stop wondering how some people wanted to add me as a friend. I have totally no idea who they are.

Some are using names I am not familiar with. Some really have lots of names huh.

Hmm.. and so I found out the even live space blog can do quite a lot including a shoutbox.

For example – yvonny’s blog.

And so, like what one of my teacher quote. Paradox - benci tapi rindu. I hate and at the same time I am falling for facebook. Just like in some relationship, you started it with a fight but that is a good way to get her attention, seriously.

HEART MELTED

I was chatting with this friend of mine, asked him about a name that sounded so familiar but I just couldn't remember who is that girl. Was wondering whether to add her to my facebook.

He started to ask me about another girl and after all the bla bla bla I got to know that the girl has her way of studying and making her own notes.

Have always been interested in how people around me study and hardly I find anyone that manage to impress me.

Copying each and every word in lecture notes shouldn't be called making own notes.
Most boys have bad handwriting like myself.
So yea, hardly.

Guess beautiful and smart is a deadly combination, enough to melt my heart.
