DREAM

Okay. Let’s talk about dreams; desires/hopes or something that we want in life. Why out of sudden you asked? It is because the Sunday service held in my University. Although I was late but at least I didn’t missed the best part of the whole morning.

I must admit the speaker is very good, at least at influencing your emotions or should I say in communicating his ideas and beliefs. There are of course other factors such as the live band and those with strong faith scattered among us that manage to hike your emotions, believe that every dreams of yours can come true as long as you have FAITH, believe in Prosperity theology or Prosperity Gospel. I know I didn’t.

So, back to the reality; I were having this thought of mine that this is just like the popular concept of “law of attraction” or positive thinking and optimism. You want something? Visualize it, ask for it, manifest on it, think of it every moment, act as if you had already possess it and your subconscious mind will attract it to you.

If you are constantly putting a lot of attention and thought onto something you don't want in life and most probably it will comes true as well. To put it in very simple words, when you focus on what you don’t have, the negative thought will manifest itself. In the end, it is just pathetic you and your dream.

I think this is the same concept in the book ‘secret’ (since I never read it before), one of those that top the list of non-fictions for months. Some even called it the most powerful law ever known and of course we have some that called it pseudoscience. I am neutral on this.

I don’t believe in it fully YET (don’t we have enough people such as monks to manifest on those thought but there are still wars, poverty and sickness etc) but I do believe in the power of subconscious mind. Remember the ROTTER'S LOCUS OF CONTROL I touched earlier in my blog? I am an ‘internal’ person.

The few ideas/concepts/theology I touched above is quite similar to me despite the different terms one may used.

Back to dreams, I believe they are the moving force of the whole society. Imagine if everyone in the world is satisfied with what they had, there wouldn’t be any improvement. I like to see it as a source of motivation. Without dreams, humanity will filled with despair.

There are too the passive way of dreaming, hope and wish that it will come true one day, just like a girl looking for Mr. Right but telling herself that the right time will come. No effort is involved and therefore it is considered as passive. And there are the other sides of the coin, someone that execute the plan, taking small steps to achieve their dreams.

I believe it is perfectly fine to dream but we must have realistic dreams. Do not dream for the sake of dream. We have control over it.

All of us had dreams and most of us still do. Our dreams might be shattered into pieces, it didn’t come true and most of us are disappointed. Old ones fade away and we made another dream. Until at one point, we just stop believing. I dream no more. I believe in now, the present. I am realistic. You show me the results; you show me the pathway; I follow it and I get the same results; I believe in you.

I have learnt this morning that there are few types of people in this world:

1. Those with no dreams. – can’t think of a single person to fit in this group.
2. Those with low dreams.
3. Those with wrong dreams. – try to be a superhero?
4. Those with VAGUE dreams. – Jesus.
5. Those with GODS’ dreams. – Most fulfilling. Don’t ask me how.
6. Those with realistic dreams – I add this because I think I am in this group.

If there is someone that could make our dream comes true, it is probably GOD. If there is someone/human that could make my dream comes true, I would call him GOD because he showed me the end results and please do contact me. In fact, anybody would.

Okay, let’s talk about something off topic. I remembered someone actually try to analyze why the story DORAEMON is so successful. The reason that author gave is “deep inside us we hope that someone would fulfill/help us with our dream and DORAEMON is capable of doing that, we are in love with the story because all your dreams may come true”. I would pay any price just to be Nobita. Well, not really 'any'. Ha-ha.

So, what are my dreams at the moment? Erm, perhaps enjoy my life over here? I have nothing to ask for at the moment or maybe someone to cook for me? Yeah, I would love that.
